Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking an Associate Claims Attorney/Claims Attorney for its Bond Division in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on investigating, evaluating, and adjusting surety bond claims with opportunities to manage outside counsel and litigation when needed.

The position requires a JD and admission to a state bar, with 3+ years of related experience and knowledge of construction or accounting processes as a plus.

Qualifications

• JD required.
• Bar admission to state preferred.
• Field of Study: Law.
• Experience: generally 3+ years in related area.
• Knowledge of construction or accounting processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, evaluates and adjusts surety bond claims.
• Reviews and evaluates coverage and/or liability.
• Secures information and positions to investigate claims.
• Directs approved consultants and outside counsel for investigations.
• Manages litigation process for claims that go to litigation.
• Maintains loss reserves and cost controls; monitors outside counsel.
• Coordinates recovery efforts when applicable.
• Ensures timely and accurate claims payments.
• Ensures compliance with state and company procedures.
