Job summary

DeGeest is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes at our Tea, SD facility. This role focuses on BOM writing and management and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement improvements for efficiency, safety, and quality.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering and about 4 years of related experience, plus CAD/CAM skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CAM).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering or related field.
• 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience with CAM programming for CNC machines.
• Knowledge of machine shops, sheet metal shops and mechanical assembly.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Strong creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Read, speak, and write English; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
• Design and implement production systems and workflows, including equipment and tool selection.
• Implement quality control measures to meet industry and company standards.
• Identify and resolve quality issues with corrective and preventive actions.
• Evaluate cost-effective materials, components, and manufacturing methods.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement tech solutions.
• Lead or participate in process-improvement projects, capacity expansion, and new product introductions.
• Develop project plans, set milestones, and manage resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement changes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and create a safe working environment.
• Identify Lean improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
