Job summary

Fontana is seeking a Boltmaker Operator to set up and run boltmaking machines, ensuring daily production and quality goals are met. You will use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify parts meet specifications and follow a BOM to identify proper tooling sequences.

Training lasts 6 months, with 1st shift for up to 6 months before switching to 2nd shift. Prior manufacturing experience is helpful; progressive presses experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; training provided.
• Completion of a 6-month training process (train on 1st shift for up to 6 months, then switch to 2nd shift).
• Experience with operating progressive presses is a plus, but not required.
• Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily production and quality goals.
• Use measurement devices (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other gauges) to verify parts meet specs.
• Follow BOM to identify proper tooling sequence.
• Complete set up operation of machine aspects (wire draw, header, pointer, roll section, tracks and conveyors).
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on machines.
• Secure raw material when required.
• Operate boltmaking machinery (Sacma, National, Formax, and Nedschroef).
• Record production activities and machine performance.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
