Job summary

Boiling Springs Library is seeking a part-time Library Page, Grade 3, for 15 hours per week at the Boiling Springs Library location. Position requires completing 10th grade, at least 16 years old, and flexibility for schedule changes. Duties include shelving, handling holds, and assisting patrons.

Workdays: Monday, Thursday, Friday, 9:00 am–2:00 pm; date available Sept 16, 2026. Salary is $9.44 per hour. Internal candidates should apply online by August 4, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Arranges materials in alphabetical and numerical order on carts.
• Shelves new items and returned materials and empties book drop.
• Searches for items on hold lists and for lost or missing materials.
• Performs shelf-reading for accuracy, straightening and dusting shelves.
• Communicates with staff and assists as needed.
• Performs minimal clerical and computer tasks.
• Handles email communication and checks intranet for announcements.
• Completes closing tasks: re-shelving, straightening chairs, and Lost & Found.
• Provides general and directional assistance to patrons.
• Assists with shifting the collection as needed.
• Maintains awareness of safety and security issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible forclosing tasks which include re-shelving materials left on tables or carts,straightening chairs, taking items to lost and found

• Remains aware ofsafety and security issues, taking appropriate action as needed

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Combination ofeducation and experience equivalent to completion of tenth grade. Must be atleast 16 years old.
• General knowledge ofthe procedures, practices and equipment of a public library with basic computerskills
• Ability to workindependently, quickly and accurately with attention to detail
• Ability to understandand follow instructions verbally and written
• Ability to adapt to newtasks with skill and ease
• Ability to interactwith patrons in a positive, courteous manner and direct patrons to librarystaff
• Familiar with DeweyDecimal system and able to alphabetize and arrange items numerically.
