Qualifications

• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER certification and a valid Driver’s License are required.
• TWIC card is required.

Responsibilities

• Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects or leaks for repair.
• Bolt or arc welds pressure vessel structures and parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Inspect vessels or components to locate defects such as tubes, fittings, or valves.
• Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using torches, jacks, or welding equipment.
• Attach rigging and coordinate crane or hoist operators to lift heavy parts into place.
• Weld or fit pipe ends to ensure leakproof joints and proper alignment.
• Layout and mark cutting lines on plate or metal using measuring tools.
• Install manholes, taps, and connections in boiler drums per blueprints.
• Study blueprints to determine locations, relationships, or dimensions of parts.
• Ensure safety, quality, and productivity while performing duties.
