Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Mid-Senior level Boiler & Pressure Systems Mechanic II for full-time, on-site work in Livermore, CA. You will install, operate, maintain, and repair boilers and related systems within the Infrastructure Maintenance and Utilities Department, interacting with a multidisciplinary team. This role requires U.S.

citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance. Pre-placement medical exam and drug testing may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent journey-to-advanced level experience with boilers and steam systems.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining steam boilers, hot water boilers, and related systems.
• Experience with tools and instruments used in boiler maintenance and water treatment.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level boiler technician work including installation, operation, maintenance and repair of boilers and related systems.
• Install, operate, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment using hand and power tools.
• Interact with multi-disciplinary team and provide effective customer service.
• Analyze data and prepare logs, permits, and preventive maintenance requests.
• Use computer or handheld device to complete work orders and training.
