Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking an Electrician II to perform specialized electrical trade work, including installation, maintenance, and repair of power distribution, lighting, and research equipment. The role may require work at Site 300 in Tracy, CA, with full-time on-site presence.

The position requires a U.S. DOE Q clearance, a High School diploma or equivalent with apprentice training or journey-level experience, and a valid California electrician license.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for DOE Q clearance.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent with related apprentice training or journey-level experience.
• Valid California General Electrician License and California Class C Driver’s License.
• Experience reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 NEC and safety procedures.
• Ability to work overtime (scheduled or emergency).
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lay out and install electrical devices, power distribution equipment, and wiring systems per codes and LLNL safety rules.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and insulation testers.
• Document preventive maintenance and report findings.
• Analyze data and prepare reports for projects and work orders.
• Provide timely customer service to clients and team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
