Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 or equivalent
• One year of semi-skilled work in operation, maintenance, or repair of utility plant systems
• Equivalent combination of experience and training includes six months in related work

Responsibilities

• Boiler operation: start up and shut down boilers, monitor gauges and controls
• Water testing: collect samples, test water quality, treat systems
• Equipment maintenance: maintain boilers, pumps, motors, traps, and related systems
• Emergency response: perform manual fire horn operations and urgent repairs
• Plant upkeep: preventive maintenance, clean areas, follow safety procedures
• Shift coverage: rotate shifts for continuous monitoring
