Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Boiler Plant Mechanic to support operations at Kings Bay, Georgia, performing boiler and auxiliary equipment maintenance to meet government specifications.

The role requires deep knowledge of boilers, chillers, compressors, and chemical treatment, with emphasis on safety, logs, and preventive maintenance. Opportunities include competitive hourly pay and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 4 years experience in boiler plant repair, operation, and overhaul.
• Knowledge of boiler chemical treatment.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems and components.
• Must possess standard tools of the trade.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Must obtain facility credentials; US citizenship required for Kings Bay.

Responsibilities

• Tend boilers, chillers, compressors and related auxiliaries to produce steam and hot water.
• Perform repairs and overhauls per diagrams, manuals and specifications.
• Perform chemical analysis of boiler water and cooling towers.
• Inspect and run preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Assist government personnel during annual certification inspections.
• Maintain logs of operations and use measuring/testing equipment.
