MSU - Michigan State University in East Lansing is seeking a Boiler Operator trainee who will receive practical training and assist in operating, monitoring and servicing the auxiliary equipment for gas boilers, steam turbines and related facilities.

Regular in-person attendance is required to meet business and customer needs, with step progression and benefits including health care for you and your family and a retirement contribution; work hours are Tue-Fri 6:00am–5:00pm and may include

Qualificações

• Completion of high school education.
• Must pass Mechanical Aptitude/Hands-On Assessment with emphasis in heavy equipment, factory maintenance and/or mechanic environment.
• Frequent lifting of 50 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds is required.
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license and ability to drive a university vehicle.

Responsabilidades

• 40%: Checks and maintains demineralizers, condensate polishers, compressors, heaters, pumps, fans; assists in regeneration of demineralizers and polishers.
• 30%: Receives training and learns basics of power plant systems; participates in training to advance to Boiler Operator.
• 20%: Records data; assists in boiler start-up/shut-down; lubricates equipment; keeps area tidy; assists in maintenance tasks.
• 10%: Correspondence via email, training, meetings and professional development.
