Job Title: Boiler Maintenance Mechanic

We are hiring immediately for a full-time Boiler Maintenance Mechanic position at SSC.

Location

TAMU PV - 100 University Drive, Prairie View, TX 77446 (online applications accepted only).

Schedule

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional details provided during the interview.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year experience maintaining and operating boilers and chillers.

Pay Range

$16.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Boiler operators perform maintenance and operational duties for the facility's Maintenance Department, including operating, repairing, maintaining, and adjusting boilers and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Update work statuses and document tasks in the CMMS via mobile device.
• Monitor and maintain boilers.
• Inspect fluids, water, gas, etc., and make adjustments as needed.
• Repair boiler machinery, replace defective parts, record readings, and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain cleanliness of boiler rooms and related facilities.
• Read blueprints and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Technician in a similar setting.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Apprentice card from the State in relevant trades.
• Understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and perform strenuous labor.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and areas requiring infection control. Flexibility to work weekends and nights as needed.
