Job summary

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or high school diploma with 3 years' boiler experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to interact with clients and coworkers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willing to travel and stay overnight; clean driving record; background check passed.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic boiler and pressure vessel operations and mechanical principles.
• Learn ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations through guided instruction and self-study.
• Act as an apprentice to conduct jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Perform 300 boiler and pressure vessel inspections under instruction.
• Complete knowledge checks and perform practical applications in conducting boiler and pressure vessel in-service inspections.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
• Pass the National Board exam to obtain an “IS” designation within 12 months of employment.
