Starr Insurance Companies seeks an Associate Machinery Specialist as part of the Boiler and Machinery Division. This full-time apprenticeship role requires an engineering degree or a high school diploma with 3 years’ boiler experience.

Travel and overnight stays are required, with a view to obtaining the IS designation within 12 months. The position emphasizes learning boiler operations, regulatory compliance, and client interaction while performing inspections and pass/follow-up checks.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or HS diploma with 3 years’ boiler servicing/operation experience.
• Clean driving record with valid license; pass background check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic boiler and pressure vessel operations.
• Learn ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.
• Conduct jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and vessels.
• Perform 300 boiler and pressure vessel inspections under instruction.
• Complete knowledge checks and practical inspections.
• Demonstrate effective communication with clients and coworkers.
