Job summary

Jefferson Health in East Norriton, PA is seeking a Stationary Engineer to maintain and operate stationary steam boilers, pumps, chillers, and related systems in a hospital environment. You will perform daily chemical water treatment, monitor gauges, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires routine maintenance, minor electrical/HVAC work, and strong focus on safety.

Work shifts include Night hours; primary location is 559 W. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
Knowledge of safe daily operations and effective maintenance for premises.
Ability to adapt and learn new concepts for ongoing operations.
Knowledge of emergency mitigation and response and safety policies.

Responsibilities

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff.
Operates and maintains boilers, chillers, and auxiliary systems by reading meters/pressure gauges and taking action.
Repacks valves, changes piping, and lubricates compressors and pumps.
Starts, stops, and adjusts boilers to insure efficiency and continuity of service.
Cleans boilers and piping to meet codes and regulations.
Performs daily inspection of boilers, pipelines, and equipment for leaks.
Maintains records of gauges and readings to monitor consumption.
Consults with Lead/Chief Stationary Engineers on needs and issues.
Performs other maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor or lead technician.
