Job summary

The County of Santa Clara seeks a skilled maintenance professional to operate, repair, and maintain building systems, including boilers, HVAC, plumbing, and related equipment, under supervision. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation across county facilities.

Required are four years of maintenance experience and a high school diploma or equivalent, with ability to read blueprints and work with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Training and Experience Note: The required knowledge and abilities are attained through training and experience equivalent to high school graduation,
• and
• Four (4) years of experience in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, service, and repair of hot water and low and high pressure steam boilers and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, and maintain boilers and HVAC systems in large buildings.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Inspect and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
• Monitor safety, power interruptions, and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain records and reports of work performed.
• Assist in training less experienced workers.
• Potentially travel to alternate locations for work.
