Opportunity

Future Opportunity available for an experienced heavy equipment operator. This individual must observe all Boh Bros. safety protocols and be drug-free. Must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from job sites assigned. Most job sites located in and around the greater New Orleans area.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of power construction equipment used to place asphalt, concrete or other hard surface paving materials, including screeds, pavers, motor graders, excavators, front end loaders, rubber tire backhoes, and dozers.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment.
• Perform other duties on the jobsite when not operating equipment, including housekeeping, checking safety protocols, and shift start/end procedures.
• Work in a team setting with other craft workers engaged in heavy construction activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions (cold, heat, humidity) and at heights or in excavations.
• Ability to work at various job sites and follow directions.
• Exposure to hazards such as dust, odors, fumes, noise, and vibration.
• Experience in the road or construction field and working outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Must be devoted and reliable. Current TWIC preferred.

Work Environment & Logistics

Boh Bros. is a union contractor. All wages and benefits are determined by the union agreement. All new hires will be paid 90% of the journeyman scale for the first 300 hours of employment.
