Boh Bros. Construction Co., LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Utility Heavy Equipment Operator in New Orleans. The role involves operating excavators, backhoes, and other equipment while adhering to strict safety protocols.

Ideal candidates should have at least two years of civil utility experience and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. New hires will be compensated based on union agreements, beginning at 90% of the journeyman scale for the first 300 hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Excavate trenches and install shoring systems.
• Maintain housekeeping at the job site.

Job description

Construction Utility Heavy Equipment Operator

Opportunity available for an experienced civil utility operator. This individual must observe all Boh Bros. safety protocols and be drug‑free. Must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from job sites assigned. Most job sites are located in and around the greater New Orleans area.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Trench excavation and installation of shoring systems
• Housekeeping at job site
• Checking safety protocol
• Beginning of shift set‑up and end of shift clean‑up
• Hand work as required
• Work with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic hand tools, and other small equipment
• Operate excavators of all sizes, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, forklift, and other small equipment
• Work outdoors in extreme conditions, including cold, heat, humidity, and at varying heights and depths

Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of experience in the civil utility or construction field
• Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Ability to understand simple directions
• Ability to acquire a TWIC card (preferred but not required)

Benefits and Other Information

Boh Bros. is a union contractor. All wages and benefits are determined by the union agreement. All new hires will be paid 90% of the journeyman scale for the first 300 hours of employment.
