Job summary

Barriere Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an Operator III for the South Shore Asphalt Group in Louisiana. You will operate a rubber-tire backhoe/excavator, base roller, small asphalt roller, and power broom, and perform basic equipment maintenance.

Candidates need at least 1 year of road or construction outdoor experience, ability to read/write simple sentences and do basic arithmetic, and willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather; safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in the road or construction field, working outdoors in extreme weather
• Able to read, understand, and write simple sentences, and perform simple mathematical equations

Responsibilities

• Operate a Rubber-tire Backhoe/Excavator, Base Roller, Small Asphalt Roller, and Power broom
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment (lubricating, cleaning, fueling)
• Connect equipment to attachments and use hand tools as needed
• Perform laborer activities when not operating equipment

We are currently searching for an experienced Operator III to join our South Shore Asphalt Group of talented employees!

Job Duties

• Operating a Rubbertire Backhoe/Excavator, Base Roller, Small Asphalt Roller, and Powerbroom
• Ability to do basic repairs and maintenance on the equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, and fueling
• Ability to perform connections between the equipment and its attachments; ability to use hand tools to accomplish these tasks
• Perform activities of a laborer when not operating the equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity.
• The maximum unassisted lift requirement is 51 pounds for all physical job descriptions
• Must observe all safety protocol
