Job summary

Toyota seeks a Production Engineer to support Body Weld (BOGI) equipment, processes, and new model projects. You’ll lead early planning, evaluate change impacts, and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure safe, high‑quality production readiness.

Responsibilities include equipment development, layout optimization, and process confirmation. Travel up to 20% to North America and Japan, with a focus on safety, quality, and cost targets across Body Weld systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; or Associate’s Degree with 2+ years experience; or High School Diploma with 7+ years experience
• Experience in Production Engineering or equipment development/procurement
• Self-starting, task-focused, able to meet KPIs
• Travel up to 20% to North American locations and Japan
• Proficient in AutoCAD with 2+ years
• Proficient in Inventor and/or Catia with 2+ years
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Lead early project planning and impact analysis for Body Weld new model and capital projects
• Review model changes for shop capability and identify technical changes
• Develop equipment scopes, specifications, buyoff and installation plans
• Coordinate procurement and installation with internal teams and suppliers
• Support safety risk assessments and production readiness
