Job summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. is seeking a Body-Seibi Technician to perform digital engineering studies offline using 3D simulation software and to program robots for new model implementations in North America manufacturing centers.

You will develop weld schedules and support documentation, while contributing to efficiency initiatives. The role involves traveling to NAMCs in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as well as international travel, with overtime up to 50%.

Qualifications

  • Associate technical degree (or higher), or 2 years of equivalent technical work experience in body shop.
  • Delmia (Carott3) experience with 3D robot simulation studies for robot offline programming.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% at times (including international travel).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • CAROTT SEIBI, MACHINE SEIBI, ROBOT PRE-DE or Body Weld maintenance experience.
  • Robotic programming of industrial robots using teach pendants/offline coding.

Who we are looking for

Toyota’s Body Weld PE Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Body-Seibi Technician The primary responsibility of this role is to perform Digital Engineering studies offline utilizing 3D simulation software (develop virtual robot programs and confirm process feasibility) in support of New Model implementation to North America Manufacturing Centers. This role will also include programming robots at manufacturing or vendor facilities, supporting equipment preparation, other production related studies, development of Weld Schedules and other supporting documentation, and department efficiency/improvement initiatives. Reporting to the DE Project Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Compliance, while continuously improving our processes.

What you will be doing
  • Conduct DE studies to produce virtual robot programs and confirm new model process feasibility.

  • Develop equipment countermeasures during planning/set-up/trial phases.
  • Up to 30% travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico.
  • Up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
  • Position will be located at PEMC.
What you bring
  • Associate technical degree (or higher), or 2 years of equivalent technical work experience in body shop.
  • Delmia (Carott3) experience with experience in performing 3D robot simulation studies (will consider other 3D simulation software) for robot offline programming.
  • (Intermediate level) Ability to travel up to 30% at times (including international travel).
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Added bonus if you have B.S. in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Electrical Engineering.
  • CAROTT SEIBI, MACHINE SEIBI, ROBOT PRE-DE or Body Weld maintenance experience.
  • Robotic programming of industrial robots using teach pendants/offline coding.
  • Visual Components (BisFactory) experience.
  • BodyWeld Shop Project / Mass Production Experience
