Major Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of truck collision repair and maintenance, including overhaul, adjustment, replacement, and repair of truck and trailer components such as cab/sheet metal, fiberglass, composites, welding, frame straightening, suspension, electrical, brake, cooling systems, surface prep, and paint.
• Identify necessary parts for repair and document on repair orders
• Determine warranty-eligible repairs
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Road test vehicles as needed
• Work independently to complete tasks efficiently
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of practical experience or equivalent education and experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred
• Specialized training in truck and trailer repair/refinish
• Proficiency with tools including welding, painting, shop machinery, and power tools
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to follow specific instructions and safety guidelines
• Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies
• Regular attendance is essential
• Valid driver’s license with current DOT qualification, including MVR check, DOT physical, and safety records; CDL holders require additional drug screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
• Willingness to travel and work scheduled hours at designated locations
• Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally

Physical and Safety Requirements

Must be able to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods. Use hands routinely to operate tools. Work safely at heights and in all weather conditions. Must have good vision and hearing to navigate the work environment. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
