Position Title: Body Shop Technician

Business Unit: Indiana Body Works

Territory: Evansville, Indiana

Pay: $25 - $35/hour *Based on experience.

Reports To: Shop Foreman

Work Schedule: 6am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

1. Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages
2. Return the vehicle back to factory specifications
3. Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body
4. Perform major and minor body repairs
5. Perform Fiberglass repairs
6. Perform steel & aluminum welding
7. Perform HVAC diagnostics and repairs
8. Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs
9. Perform suspension and steering diagnostics and repairs
10. Can properly fill depressions with body filler and ensure a quality repair
11. Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch
12. Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment
13. Straighten bent automobile frames using frame rack
14. File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
15. Aim headlights
16. Replace bolts on panels and align properly
17. Make cosmetic repairs
18. Perform other duties as assigned by management
19. Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications
20. Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job

Desired Qualifications

1. CDL a plus but not required
2. Fiberglass and Metal repair experience
3. 3 years medium/heavy truck body shop experience preferred
4. Attendance is a priority
5. Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required
6. Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
7. Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment
8. Excellent problem solving skills required
