Job summary

Cox Automotive in the USA is seeking a Body Shop Painter (Flag) to properly repair and prime panels for refinishing, ensuring sanding scratches and imperfections are removed before topcoat application. This is an individual contributor role with day shifts at a fixed Cox location.

Pay is production-based by flag hour, ranging from $1.25 to $25.00 per hour, depending on location. Pre-employment drug screening applies, and standard safety protocols must be followed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of body shop and/or prepping experience preferred.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds and manual dexterity.
• Vision abilities include depth perception and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect repairs and primed panels for proper body repairs and primer application.
• Mask/protect adjacent panels from scratches during prep and refinishing.
• Prepare repaired panels for final finish using abrasives and tools per SOP.
• Avoid over- or under-sanding and ensure a clean, dust-free finish.
• Follow safety procedures and support Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Assist supervisor in training and general housekeeping duties.
