Job summary

GTG Peterbilt in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring a Body Shop Estimator to assess damage on diesel trucks and estimate labor and parts costs for repairs or replacements. The role requires strong communication with customers and insurers and the ability to manage multiple projects while using estimating software.

You will collaborate with the body shop team to review estimates, determine feasibility of repairs, and prepare insurance forms and recommendations. Prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a Body Shop Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel truck repair and be able to accurately appraise vehicle damage to determine the cost of repair or customization.

Requirements

• Project management to include tracking parts, status updates, and maintain schedule.
• Examine damaged vehicles to determine extent of damage related to the said incident.
• Estimate cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
• Review repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
• Determine feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts.
• Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
• Coordinate with insurance companies and customers.
• Estimate cost of repainting, converting to special purposes or customizing undamaged vehicles.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Two to four years related experience and/or training.
• Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
