Overview
The Job in a Nutshell:
The Body Care Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the Body Care department, as well as training, directing, and monitoring all department staff. Department Managers are responsible for their department's success and are required to fulfill the duties of the Manager on Duty (MOD) on a scheduled basis.

Responsibilities

- Creating an inviting, full, and shoppable department.
- Ordering for the body care department and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Managing margin and overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
- Ensuring all in-stock products and conditions meet company standards.
- Offering and following up on special orders.
- Merchandising shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
- Managing and participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
- Training and monitoring department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.
- Working with other department managers to cross-train staff.
- Conducting active and passive demos.
- Assisting in interviewing and hiring for department needs.
- Working with the store manager to address performance and disciplinary issues.
- Opening and closing the store, including DSR and cash processes.
- Handling register functions, managing customer returns, addressing complaints, and covering register shifts.
- Maintaining safety and security of customers and employees.
- Managing disruptions like loiterers, solicitation, weather emergencies, and misuse of facilities.
- Answering customer questions per standards and policies, including nutritional support statements.
- Increasing product knowledge continually.
- Using SAP and inventory management software, analyzing reports, and utilizing other IS programs.
- Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and attending mandatory meetings.

Qualifications
Recipe for Success:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-2 years of retail experience in a grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications as required.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused.
- Sense of urgency in task completion.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
- Must be cashier trained and able to handle cash transactions.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
