Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable Assistant Instructors to support our after-school enrichment program in Boca Raton, FL. This role offers a chance to develop teaching skills, mentor young chess players, and gain classroom experience.

You'll assist in classes, provide student support, and follow a structured curriculum. Competitive pay per class, travel compensation for trips over 15 miles, and flexible hours (1–5 classes weekly) are offered.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with groups of elementary students.
• Experience (teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or similar) is a plus.
• Ability to follow direction and support classroom management, creating interactive, friendly sessions.
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor.
• Genuine desire to promote good sportsmanship and model behavior.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chess Instructor in setting up and managing a fun, interactive class for 15–22 elementary students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to practice piece movements and basic concepts.
• Support activities, keep students engaged, reinforce positive behavior.
• Follow the curriculum and promote good sportsmanship with the instructor.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
