Job summary

Chess Wizards in Miami, FL is seeking enthusiastic Assistant Instructors to support our after-school enrichment program. You will help run engaging chess classes for elementary students and gain hands-on teaching experience in a fun environment.

Responsibilities include assisting the instructor, providing small-group support, and following a structured curriculum while promoting sportsmanship and safety in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching or tutoring children is preferred.
• Ability to explain chess moves and basic concepts at a child-friendly level.
• Reliable transportation and weekday afternoon availability to teach 1–5 classes per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chess Instructor in setting up and running a class for 15–22 elementary students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to practice piece movements and basic concepts.
• Support activities, keep students engaged, and reinforce positive behavior.
• Follow the curriculum and promote good sportsmanship.
• Travel to various local school sites for sessions.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
