Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic Assistant Instructors for its Fort Lauderdale after-school chess program. You will help run interactive, kid-friendly classes for 15–22 elementary students, following a structured curriculum and promoting good sportsmanship.

Ideal candidates bring teaching or tutoring experience, reliability, and a positive demeanor. You may teach 1–5 classes weekly between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, with mileage reimbursements for travel between local schools.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or similar is a plus.
• Ability to follow directions and support classroom management.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor and strong sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chess Instructor in setting up and managing a fun, interactive chess class for 15–22 elementary students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, helping them practice piece movements and understand basic concepts
• Support activities, keep students engaged, reinforce positive behavior, and follow the curriculum.
