Civil Service Title: Administrative Construction Project Manager (NM)

To be considered for this position, candidates must be serving permanently in the title, or reachable on the list for the Civil Service Title: Administrative Construction Project Manager, or eligible under the 55A program. Please indicate your list number on your resume or attach your notice of results.
The role involves serving as a Project Manager/Engineer-In-Charge in the Bureau of Capital Design and Construction, working in groups such as East River Bridges, Movable Bridges, Roadway Bridges, Component Rehabilitation, or Specialty Engineering. Responsibilities include overseeing construction and rehabilitation of bridges and related structures, reviewing contract documents, planning schedules, preparing scopes and specifications, liaising with outside agencies like NYSDOT, advising on goals and contractor performance, reviewing cost estimates, evaluating consultants, supervising staff, and coordinating activities to meet project objectives.
Preferred Skills: Effective communication, knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical engineering design and practices, supervisory ability over engineering staff, and a valid New York State Professional license (preferred).

Minimum Qualifications: At least six years of full-time experience in construction management on capital projects valued at $15,000 or more, including 18 months in a managerial or consultative role. Additional experience in construction inspection, skilled trades, or education in relevant engineering fields can be credited to reach a total of ten years of education and experience. A NYS professional engineer or architect license may substitute for some education/experience, but candidates must have at least six years of relevant construction management experience, including 18 months in a managerial role.
License Requirements: Valid NYS Driver License, maintained during employment.
