Job Description

Serves as an Administrative Project Manager in the Bureau of Maintenance, Inspections and Operations. Responsibilities include overseeing the protective coating of the City's bridges, reviewing contract documents, planning and scheduling contract work, and preparing scopes and specifications for construction contracts. Acts as liaison with outside agencies including NYSDOT to ensure proper engineering coordination. Advises leadership on goals, objectives, and performance evaluations of contractors and consultants. Reviews and approves cost estimates, supervises construction projects, and guides subordinate staff. May require field visits during weekends or overnight hours in emergency situations. Performs related duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver's license in New York State (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (preferred).

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, plus five years of relevant experience, including two in a supervisory role.
  2. Or, a high school diploma/equivalent plus nine years of relevant experience, including two in a supervisory role.
  3. Or, equivalent education and experience. An advanced degree or professional license may substitute for one year of experience, but the two years of supervisory experience are mandatory.
Additional Information
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
  • NY State driver's license is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
