Job summary

MatX, a Mountain View semiconductor startup, seeks a Corporate Controller to lead accounting, ensure GAAP financials, and build scalable processes. You will own the monthly close, tax, audits, and investor reporting while partnering with Finance leadership.

You will guide in-house accounting, manage external providers, and drive ERP readiness as the company scales beyond QuickBooks Online.

Qualifications

• Active CPA and Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with close ownership.
• Experience in cost accounting, R&D capitalization, accruals, and inventory accounting.
• Startup experience scaling accounting operations and supporting audits, investor diligence, and fundraising.
• Strong experience in QuickBooks Online and ERP transitions.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly close, GAAP financials, and accounting governance.
• Manage in-house accounting function and oversee outsourced providers.
• Account for R&D, tape-out costs, manufacturing, inventory, and NREs.
• Oversee payroll, treasury, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Prepare board/investor-ready financial reporting with the Finance Lead.
• Drive ERP readiness and transition planning as MatX grows beyond QuickBooks Online.
• Own tax compliance, audits, and investor diligence requests.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure accurate cost tracking.
