Job summary

MatX Inc. is seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller to lead our accounting org, ensuring data integrity, robust controls, and scalable processes as we grow in the semiconductor space.

You will own the monthly close, GAAP financials, and reporting for Board and investors, while partnering with Engineering and Finance to drive cost visibility and strategic insights across R&D, manufacturing, and supply chains.

Qualifications

• CPA with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including close ownership.
• Strong cost accounting, R&D capitalization, accruals, and inventory accounting knowledge.
• Experience with tangible manufactured products (hardware/semiconductors) and startup-scale finance.
• Experience supporting audits, investor diligence, and ERP/QBO transitions.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with GAAP-compliant financials.
• Lead in-house scaling of accounting, internal controls, and governance.
• Oversee AP/AR, GL, treasury, fixed assets, and project accounting.
• Manage audits, tax compliance, and external reporting to investors/board.
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 for applicable contracts.
• Drive ERP readiness and future migration planning.
