Job summary

Hoxton Circle seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting team on an interim basis while the permanent position is sourced. This pivotal financial leadership role will drive operational efficiency, enhance processes and technology, and serve as the right hand to the CFO during expansion.

The candidate will oversee accounting operations, lead month-end close and consolidations, ensure GAAP compliance, and manage external audits.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Experience coordinating audits and working with external auditors.
• CPA and a BA in Accounting required; Big 4/large regional firm experience preferred.

Our client, a rapidly growing company closer to Mesa, AZ, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their accounting team on an interim basis while the permanent long-term position is sourced for. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious financial leader who will drive operational efficiency, enhance processes and technology, and serve as the right hand to the CFO during a period of expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Lead the month-end close, consolidations, and financial statement preparation
• Implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and GASB standards
• Manage audit processes and external relationships with auditors and financial institutions
• Partner cross-functionally with leadership to support strategic decision-making

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting and CPA required
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Mix of public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm), private industry and government accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience working in a PE/VC backed company.
