Job summary

University of Vermont Foundation & Alumni Association in Burlington, VT seeks a Director of Board & Presidential Relations to serve as the primary staff liaison to the Foundation Board and Leadership Council, partnering with the President and CEO to shape governance and fundraising strategy.

The role leads board and committee support, aligns presidential engagement with institutional priorities, and advances volunteer leadership across the Foundation and University of Vermont.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in advancement, board or volunteer relations, executive engagement, higher education, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
• Experience working with governing boards, foundation boards, university trustees, or senior volunteer leadership groups is highly valued.
• Ability to develop strategies that deepen donor or volunteer engagement and lead to increased philanthropic investment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary staff liaison to the UVM Foundation Board of Directors and Leadership Council.
• Develop and manage an annual framework for governance and philanthropic engagement.
• Lead planning and execution of Board meetings, retreats, and onboarding processes.
