Job summary

The North Florida/ South Georgia Veterans Health System seeks a board-certified Pathologist specializing in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (ACP). Additional subspecialty fellowship in GI/Liver Pathology or Dermatopathology is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must meet VA basic requirements and any additional requirements
• Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required
• Must pass pre-employment physical examination
• Additionally- PRPs may be appointed with supervision only
• Residency training programs must be approved by ACGME/AOA or equivalent
• Residents in training may be considered as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs)
• PRPs are not independent practitioners and require supervision
• This position may require handling cytopathology consultations if training/needs allow
• Work schedule and duties as defined by facility needs and supervisor

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of surgical pathology biopsies and resections and intraoperative consultations with frozen sections
• Presentation of pathology findings at interdisciplinary conferences and tumor boards
• Participation in quality assurance, peer review, and accreditation activities
• Assistance with interpretation of Cytopathology specimens (non-GYN and GYN) if needed
• Management and reporting of Clinical Pathology laboratory activities
• Performance of autopsies (fewer than 20 per year) and call coverage for AP/CP needs
• Duties include or support 8-hour workday schedule and potential shift changes as required
