Qualifications

• Be a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy.
• Possess an unlimited and unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the state in which the laboratory is located.
• Be certified in anatomic or clinical pathology by the relevant board.
• Minimum of three years of pathology experience in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prepared tissue sections and body fluids using microscopy and related techniques.
• Provide diagnostic information in pathology reports to clinicians.
• Participate in quality control, quality assurance, and infection control.
• Consult with referring physicians regarding test utilization and reporting results.
