Qualifications

• MD or DO required with unrestricted Texas license or eligibility.
• Board-certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology.
• Minimum of three years pathology experience in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of CAP/CLIA regulations and hospital policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to consult with referring physicians and provide case interpretations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic pathology of surgical specimens, frozen sections, and cytology.
• Perform gross examination of surgical tissues.
• Provide client consultation and guidance on diagnoses and testing.
• Prepare and issue written pathology reports.
• Participate in quality control, QA, and infection control activities.
• Engage in proficiency testing and departmental meetings to improve accuracy.
• May train staff and assist with on-call duties.
