Responsibilities
  • Conduct FBAs to identify the function of interfering or unsafe behaviors
  • Develop BSPs that include evidence‑based interventions
  • Collect and analyze student behavior data to monitor student progress and adjust BSPs to ensure success of the student
  • Regularly review data collected with staff and families and interpret the results
  • Write student Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, collect IEP data, and report IEP data in progress reports and IEP meetings
  • Attend team meetings for students on your caseload
  • Train staff on behavioral principles, strategies, data collection, and the implementation of student BSPs
  • Collaborate with school teams, including special education staff and related service providers, to ensure consistent and effective support for students
  • Maintain professional boundaries as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and Perkins School for the Blind
  • Supervise registered behavior technicians (RBTs) and BCBA practicum students as needed
  • Assist with intake assessment and planning in collaboration with admissions
  • Assist with transition planning for students on your caseload in collaboration with student teams
  • Once Safety‑Care trainer certified, provide Safety‑Care training as needed
  • Take an involved approach to student support and daily needs
