Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a Lake County, Illinois school district to hire a dedicated BCBA for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time, onsite opportunity with a small caseload, designed to support students' behavioral and developmental needs.

You'll collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized behavioral supports, conduct FBAs, develop BIPs, and monitor progress through data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • Current BCBA certification required.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting FBAs and developing BIPs.
  • Experience with pediatric/school-aged populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of IDEA/IEP and behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Strong communication and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct FBAs and develop individualized BIPs.
  • Provide direct and consultative behavioral support to students, educators, and staff.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.

We're partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the 2026–2027 school year.

This part-time, onsite opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact supporting a small caseload of students with behavioral and developmental needs. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized behavioral supports that promote student success across academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains.

  • Location: Onsite in Lake County, IL
  • Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday
  • Weekly Hours: 15 hours per week
  • School Year: 2026–2027
  • Caseload: Approximately 3–5 students
  • Age Range: Approximately 3–15 years old
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Provide direct and consultative behavioral support services to students, educators, and support staff.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to monitor student progress and guide intervention decisions.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student growth and success.
  • Provide coaching and training to teachers, paraprofessionals, and classroom staff on behavior management strategies and data collection procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of evidence-based behavioral interventions.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
  • Support positive behavior supports and proactive intervention strategies across educational settings.
Qualifications:
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Experience working with pediatric and/or school-aged populations preferred
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP implementation, special education compliance, and behavioral intervention strategies
  • Strong communication, collaboration, consultation, and data analysis skills
  • School-based experience preferred
