Backroads of Appalachia is seeking a BOA Regional Engagement & Initiative VISTA to build relationships at the local and regional level and identify inventive ways for businesses and partners to participate in events and initiatives.

The VISTA will develop tools and systems to organize, support, replicate, and sustain regional events while strengthening connections among organizers, businesses, volunteers, residents, and visitors. Experience in community outreach is valued.

BOA Regional Engagement & Initiative VISTA

Backroads of Appalachia is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a passion for the Appalachian Region. Through motorsports-focused tourism, we work to drive economic development and reduce poverty in the region through job training, and opportunity in the impoverished areas of Appalachia. The VISTA will focus on building relationships at the local and regional level and identifying creative ways for businesses and partners to participate in events and initiatives. This may include modest financial contributions as well as in‑kind goods, services, volunteer support, supplies, food, equipment, discounts, or other resources. The overall goal is to build a stronger network of regional partners and create repeatable systems that make events and initiatives more sustainable while increasing exposure and economic opportunities for rural Appalachian communities.

Member Duties
