AmeriCorps & Senior Corps' Resident Engagement & Leadership Pathways VISTA position supports communities by building systems for outreach, listening, and advisory boards. The VISTA helps connect residents with opportunities and partners, creating a pathway from participants to volunteers, ambassadors, and leaders.

The role focuses on coordinating neighborhood associations, mapping assets, and developing referral tools to boost neighborhood initiatives, leadership, and service impact.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging residents and building community programs.
• Ability to develop systems for outreach, feedback, and stakeholder advisory groups.
• Strong collaboration with neighborhood associations and partners.
• Asset mapping and resource identification experience.
• Capacity to cultivate pathways from participants to leaders.

Responsibilities

Resident Engagement & Leadership Pathways VISTA

Establish resident outreach, listening, feedback, advisory (Steer Co's), neighborhood-association coordination, consent, partner-record, asset-mapping, and participation systems. Build a bounded progression from participant to volunteer, ambassador, Community Coordinator, advisory member, or project leader, plus partner opportunity mapping and referral tools.

Member Duties :

The VISTA will develop systems to strengthen resident engagement and create meaningful opportunities for community members to participate in Sustaining Way's work. They will establish processes for resident outreach, listening sessions, feedback, advisory and Steering Committees, neighborhood association coordination, and community asset mapping. The VISTA will create tools to track resident and partner relationships, referrals, opportunities, participation, and appropriate consent. They will also build a clear pathway for residents to grow from program participants into volunteers, ambassadors, Community Coordinators, advisory members, or project leaders. In addition, the VISTA will identify community partners and opportunities, develop referral and resource tools, and create systems that help residents become increasingly involved in neighborhood initiatives and community leadership.
