Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks engineers to define and manage BMS system-level design for next-generation electrified vehicles. You will lead reviews, perform circuit analyses, and support PCB layout with a focus on robustness and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• 2 years of experience with high voltage battery systems, PCB hardware design, BMS controllers, and writing high quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage requirements and system-level design for BMS in next-gen electrified vehicles.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and worst-case analyses for robustness.
• Perform circuit design and schematic capture for BMS electronics with component selection and tolerance analysis.
• Develop and run circuit/system simulations (SPICE, transient, worst-case) to validate functionality and margins.
• Support PCB layout and manufacturability; provide placement/routing guidance and review Gerbers.
• Investigate warranty/quality returns; perform root-cause analysis and implement revisions.
• Drive supplier investigations and corrective actions; develop test methods to diagnose failures.
• Evaluate electrical system alternatives across cost, weight, packaging, quality, benchmarking, geometry and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update requirements with system changes.
• Promote continuous improvement in designs, processes, and supplier quality controls.
