Job summary

Mennel Milling Company in Fostoria, OH is seeking a BMP Crew Leader to supervise a technician team and maintain facilities and equipment. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and efficiency across buildings, machinery, and grounds.

You will lead hands-on maintenance, diagnose issues, and coordinate with engineering and operations to improve performance. Minimum 5 years in building trades preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Lead, delegate, and supervise the technician team to ensure safe, efficient work.
• Perform and support general building maintenance and repairs (plumbing, painting, doors, windows, roofing).
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment including engines, motors, and conveyors.
• Inspect and replace defective parts; test equipment after repairs.
• Assist with construction and repairs involving wood, steel, concrete, and other materials.
• Maintain facility grounds (lawn care, landscaping, snow removal).
• Operate lifts, trucks, hoists, and cranes as needed.
• Coordinate with customers, supervisors, and engineering to improve safety and efficiency.
• Follow OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and company safety requirements.
• Develop technical skills and apply new methods to improve facilities.

What You’ll Do

As aBMP Crew Leader, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving our Fostoria-area facilities while leading a team of technicians. You’ll help ensure our buildings, equipment, support systems, and grounds remain safe, clean, reliable, and efficient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, delegate, and supervise the technician team while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Perform and support general building maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, painting, doors, windows, roofing systems, and facility structures.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
• Inspect equipment and components, identify issues, replace defective parts, and test equipment following repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Assist with construction, alterations, and repairs involving wood, plaster, steel, concrete, brick, and other building materials.
• Maintain facility grounds through lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, and other seasonal responsibilities.
• Operate lifts, grounds maintenance equipment, light- to medium-duty trucks, chain hoists, and overhead cranes.
• Partner with customers, supervisors, and engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve facility safety, sanitation, reliability, and efficiency.
• Follow all applicable OSHA, NFPA, EPA, company, local, and federal safety requirements.
• Continue developing technical skills and applying new methods and technologies to improve the facilities we maintain.

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of building trades experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a solid mechanical aptitude.
• General knowledge of building construction, maintenance, repair, and facility systems.
• Ability to read and understand operation and maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to use work order and maintenance software.
• Ability to safely operate scissor lifts, one-man lifts, grounds maintenance equipment, light- to medium-duty trucks, chain hoists, and overhead cranes.
• Valid State of Ohio driver's license, subject to a three-year MVR review.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to learn new skills, equipment, and technologies while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.
