Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Basic Machine Operator to support clinical teams in Valrico, FL. This full-time role involves assisting with patient examinations, procedures, and imaging, maintaining patient records, and supporting front and back-office tasks.

The position may require travel to other sites based on patient volume and clinic needs. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; Florida BMO and BLS certifications are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Florida Basic Machine Operator (BMO) certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical Medical Assistant preferred.
• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examination, procedures, treatment, and x-ray/imaging services.
• Handle patient histories, routine lab procedures, and specimen preparation for transport to the lab.
• Follow up on test orders and report results to provider and patient; maintain patient education materials.
• Maintain and operate medical equipment; order clinical supplies; create and update patient EMR.

Position Details:

• Location: Valrico, FL
• Status: Full Time (non-exempt)
• Twelve (12) hour shift 8:0 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday
• 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday (or until the last patient leaves) with two days on, then two days off rotation. This will include every other weekend (Weekend Differential may apply)

The Basic Machine Operator Is Responsible For The Following:

• Assists providers with patient examination, procedures, treatment, and x-ray/imaging services.
• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
• Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complies with all applicable regulatory agency regulations.
• Supports both front and back-office duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Position may require travel to other sites depending on patient volume and clinic needs.
• Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Required

Certification or Licensure includes BLS Certificate and Florida Basic Machine Operator (BMO).
