Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Full Time Basic Machine Operator in Riverview, FL. You will assist providers with examinations and imaging, manage patient histories and lab prep, and maintain EMR records.

The role requires BLS and Florida BMO certifications, a high school diploma, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and possible travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• Preferred Technical Medical Assistant certification.
• BLS certification and Florida Basic Machine Operator qualification.

Responsibilities

BayCare is currently in search of our newest Basic Machine Operator who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. BayCare’s top priority is the health and well-being of our communities as Tampa Bay's leading multi-specialty group with more than 600 providers practicing 45 specialties in over 175 outpatient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and west central Florida regions.

• Location: Riverview, FL
• Status: Full Time (non-exempt)
• Twelve (12) hour shift 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday
• 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday (or until the last patient leaves) with two days on, then two days off rotation. This will include every other weekend (Weekend Differential may apply)

The Basic Machine Operator is responsible for the following:

• Assists providers with patient examination, procedures, treatment, and x-ray/imaging services.
• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
• Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complies with all applicable regulatory agency regulations.
• Supports both front and back-office duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Position may require travel to other sites depending on patient volume and clinic needs.
• Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Required Certification or Licensure includes BLS Certificate and Florida Basic Machine Operator (BMO).

Required Certification and Licensure:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire and
• Florida Basic Machine Operator (BMO)

Education:

• Required High School or Equivalent;
• Preferred Technical Medical Assistant

Experience:

• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant
