Job summary

Sigma Defense in San Diego, CA seeks an ATGPAC BMD Ashore SME to join our team. The role requires extensive Surface Navy experience and a rigorous focus on Ballistic Missile Defense operations, briefing senior audiences, and coordinating training across fleets.

Responsibilities include training, evaluating readiness, producing weekly briefs, and drafting mission reports. A Secret clearance or higher is required, with sponsorship possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of Surface Navy experience including training supervision or systems configuration.
• 5+ years in tactical warfare planning and real or simulated warfare execution.
• 5+ years of higher HQ level interactions with strike groups or similar units.
• Must have BMD Watch Officer / Tactical Action Officer qualification.
• 5+ years training Surface Fleet personnel in BMD operations.
• Experience briefing senior flag level audiences with in-depth briefs.
• Experience tracking certification and training schedules for Naval Surface Forces.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical training and certification recommendations on BMD capabilities.
• Train individual watch standers when augmentation is required.
• Participate in weekly ATGPAC updates and staff stand‑ups.
• Review training plans and risk reports for Pacific Fleet ships in training.
• Create weekly PowerPoint briefs to keep ATGPAC informed on BMD issues.
• Prepare End of Mission Reports in TORIS EOMR and advise on training readiness.
• Draft BMD messages and review SFTRM for improvements.
• Review BMD Ashore SOP annually and suggest updates.
• Ensure scheduling, de-confliction, and staffing align with latest requirements.
