Clevelandschools is seeking a Part-Time Interventionist to support reading and/or math proficiency in grades K-8. The role involves delivering targeted instruction, developing lesson plans, and administering progress monitoring under the guidance of school staff.

The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers and RTI facilitators, maintaining accurate student records, and managing small groups while aligning with district RTI processes. Training and related duties are expected.

Qualifications

  • Meets ESSA qualifications including an associate degree or 48 hours of college credit or have passed the ParaProfessional Praxis test.
  • Meets the health and physical qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provides small group and/or individual instruction in reading and/or mathematics in grades K-8.
  • Writes lesson plans for small group reading instruction.
  • Delivers lesson plans according to specified techniques.
  • Administers screening and survey-level assessments under guidance of the RTI Facilitator.
  • Administers running records under guidance of the Instructional Facilitator.
  • Keeps accurate records of student work, attendance, and intervention.
  • Works with RTI Facilitator to monitor student progress.
  • Manages the behavior of a small group of students.
  • Uses computers/tablets and software to determine and monitor progress.
  • Attends training as needed.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Principal.

Associate degree or 48 college credits

JOB GOAL

To provide assistance to teachers and help students become proficient in reading and/or mathematics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Provides small group and/or individual instruction in reading and/or mathematics in grades K-8

  2. Writes lesson plans for small group reading instruction

  3. Delivers lesson plans according to specified techniques

  4. Administers screening and survey-level assessments under the guidance of the Response to Intervention Facilitator

  5. Administers running records under the guidance of the Instructional Facilitator

  6. Keeps accurate records of student work, attendance, and intervention

  7. Works with Response to Intervention Facilitator to monitor student progress

  8. Manages the behavior of a small group of students

  9. Uses personal computers and/or tablets and software applications for determining and monitoring student progress

  10. Attends training as needed

  11. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Principal

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., or the average weight of a child, if assigned to elementary grades, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs., or more. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:
