Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health seeks a BLS Instructor for UCLA Center for Prehospital Care. This 25% per diem role involves delivering lectures and hands-on training to UCLA Health and the broader healthcare community.

The position requires BLS Provider & Instructor certification, EMT/Paramedic licensure, and the ability to teach evenings, holidays, and weekends. Per diem arrangement may convert to a career based on performance and needs.

Qualifications

• AHS BLS Provider & Instructor certification.
• Current EMT or EMT-Intermediate license or Paramedic licensure.
• Baccalaureate degree in health-related field (preferred).
• 1–2 years EMS/ED experience.
• Experience coordinating education courses or time management.
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current AHA instructor certification in BLS.
• Course instructor course (preferred).
• Knowledge of course objectives and clinical equipment usage.
• Ability to translate complex concepts clearly.
• Available for evenings, holidays, weekends.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and hands-on training per AHA Community Training Center standards.
• Foster engaging learning environments and monitor learner progress.
• Ensure course objectives are met and support program quality.
• Manage attendance and support student success.
