UCLA Health – Center for Prehospital Care is seeking a BLS Instructor (per diem) to deliver high-quality classroom and skills training for the UCLA Health community and the broader EMS audience in Los Angeles, CA. Qualifications

• AHS BLS Provider & Instructor certification required.
• EMT or Paramedic licensure or EMT-Intermediate preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred.
• 1–2 years EMS/ED experience required.
• Experience coordinating education courses or strong time management skills.
• Current BLS provider certification from American Heart Association.
• Current BLS instructor certification from American Heart Association.
• Completion of educator courses (NAEMSE/NHTSA or AHA Core instructor) preferred.
• Knowledge of course objectives across cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.
• Knowledge of clinical equipment and supplies applications.
• Understanding varied scopes of practice for EMS roles and nurses/physicians.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex concepts clearly.
• Evenings, holidays and weekend scheduling availability.
• Ability to foster a stimulating classroom environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Service-oriented, professional demeanor.
• Strong interpersonal skills with supervisors, staff, students and the public.
• Physical capability for sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and hands-on training per AHA Community Training Center standards.
• Foster engaging learning environments and monitor learner progress.
• Ensure course objectives are met and support program quality and student success.
