Job summary

Pretium Packaging in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Production & Equipment Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will operate, monitor, and adjust machinery to meet production goals and quality standards while performing changeovers and basic troubleshooting.

The role emphasizes quality assurance, food safety, and adherence to GMPs. You will handle material flow, housekeeping, and safety training, with opportunities for overtime and career growth within a safety-focused, team-oriented

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and production specifications.
• Plastics manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Packaging industry experience (preferred).
• Experience performing machine set-ups and changeovers (preferred).
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust assigned production equipment to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Perform machine changeovers, start-ups, and basic troubleshooting.
• Review machine performance and operating conditions with the previous shift.
• Ensure production equipment is running efficiently and producing quality products.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and preventative maintenance activities.
• Report equipment concerns, mechanical issues, or maintenance needs promptly.
• Conduct quality inspections and checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• Document machine adjustments, process changes, and quality issues.
• Identify and address product defects and production concerns.
• Follow all quality procedures and work instructions.
• Monitor and maintain required levels of raw materials.
• Keep assigned equipment and work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.
• Follow all housekeeping standards and plant cleanliness requirements.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns immediately.
• Participate in safety initiatives and training programs.
• Follow plant job specifications and task requirements.
• Support overtime, plant shutdowns, and special projects as needed.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Monitor and verify activities to ensure products meet food safety and quality requirements.
• Follow all company food safety, GMP, and quality assurance procedures.
